Slant 6 people are a bit off, even for Mopar fans, but I've never seen this hood scoop mod before

this is how to grab attention at a international auto show, think outside the convention center! REO in 1927 Helsinki Auto Show

this, is a showroom built by the REO importer Mr Peltola, outside the auto show, to grab attention and isolate potential customers from the rest of the makers

Mr. Peltola the importer did not want to join the other car dealers at the show and decided to have his own display in a market square called Kasarmintori in Helsinki. A look inside the novelty shown in the middle photo above, demonstrates just how well the display showcased the product for the firm. At the far end can be seen a sales desk set up under and inside the cowl and hood. All show photos courtesy of perrasmotornostalgi via http://www.retronaut.com via http://theoldmotor.com/?p=112284

the Aerotrain... one unique piece of mass transportation

Here we see the SkyTrain "Orleans" on the platform Chevilly front of his hangar. When SkyTrain was not on his way,he could move freely on the platform with 2 wheel drive and steering. The lift was of course always provided by the airbag. Thus, the SkyTrain could enter and exit the hangar under its own power.

Once again I discover a vehicle (hovercraft) that has wheels, and add it to the many cool things in this blog of "cool things with wheels"

Original GT 40 chassis under a van.. imagine finding this van after 40 years of obscurity

The Supervan first appeared at the Easter 1971 meeting at Brands Hatch. A GT40 chassis and its mid-engined 400 bhp Ford V8 gave a standard pressed-steel Mark 1 Transit bodyshell a claimed top speed of around 150 mph. The vehicle had been built for Ford by Terry Drury Racing. Externally the van appeared very like a standard Transit, in Ford’s racing livery of white with low horizontal triple blue stripes.

one of the worst vehicles I've heard of, with a terrible review from Car and Driver (but I still like it)

Don’t let the badge mislead you. The Jeep Commander commands its brand only in name. It is among the youngest nameplates in the Jeep lineup, and its sales figures command little more than an exasperated groan.

Like the disaster that beset another beleaguered commander, General George Custer, at Little Big Horn, what happened to the Jeep’s sales is well chronicled: The price of gas bloated, killing demand for SUVs; and then the value of everything else imploded, killing demand for cars of all types.

(There is a V-6, but just because you have a rope and are near train tracks doesn’t mean you have to tie yourself to them and wait for the 10:15.)

Passing power in this Jeep is the stuff of dreams, as in, “keep dreaming.” With all the aerodynamic grace of a billboard in a tornado, the Commander needs the driver to leg in for a transmission kickdown just to overcome the drag of its upright windshield and grille at highway speeds.

the camping car, by Renault, 1971 it has to be the inspiration for Inspector Gadgets car

This is by far the most gadgety but cute car I've seen... the reverse light is an extendable magnetic attached light for helping you while changing a tire, or showering.. which is aided by the full 360 shower curtain. I was happily surprised by the suspenders as should seat belts, and the extension car body to add a foot to the cargo area for laying down.

Watching this will cause you to wonder why the magnetic light was never added as standard equipment on cars, and wonder why you haven't seen this clip before

I've seen buses with VW vans on top, but this is the first delivery panel truck with a station wagon top I've ever seen

Count De Sakhnoffsky, why did you leave us so soon? I need more of your cool aesthetic streamline design for car guy soulfood!

man, this just makes my day, and it's found on a cool tumblr: http://truquetructruk.tumblr.com/

here's another example, the trailer... I'm not sure about the maker of the trailer or car/truck pulling it: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/02/cool-designs-and-trailers-id-love-to.html

take a look at this guy trying to get out of the office below:

The car was sold in 1968 to Mickey Thompson, were it stayed in his huge collection until his death in 1988. The car was fully restored by its previous owner in 2003 and just sold at auction in 2009
