bicycle parts and time on his hands, and this incredible clock was the result

Toon Boumans made this pendulum clock bike from a bike and miscellaneous bike parts, displayed at the Kerkrade Maker Faire

I have never seen such a piece of craftmanship before. He lives in a small village with a special collection of 48 bikes, collected over more than 50 years.

the exploded view, by photographer Fabian Oefner

below, the part of the models used for a couple of the above photos.

What looks to be an ‘exploded view‘ of a 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR taken at a microsecond in time, is actually a meticulous and painstakingly crafted artificial moment by artist and photographer Fabian Oefner.

In Disintegrating, http://www.mbandf.com/mad-gallery/explore/disintegrating-by-fabian-oefner/  Fabian sketches where the individual pieces will go. He then takes apart a model car piece by piece; from the body shell right down to the minuscule screws. Each car contains hundreds of components.

The Zodiac Squadron, and it's incredible nose art by Phil Brinkman

The 834th was known as the Zodiac Squadron for the 12 B-24’s which had the signs of the zodiac painted on their noses. The original artwork was done by CPL Phil Brinkman. None of the Zodiacs were lost during the 49 missions the 486th flew before transitioning to the Fortresses.

The artist who made these series of nose art paintings got pretty well known for it. This is one of the rare occasions where the name of the artists is still remembered. Phil Brinkman was a professional illustrator at the time.
