"Steve McQueen Had the first two Honda Fours in this country and he gave 'em to me to tear into and customize." is the caption that is with the photo where I found it, though what that has to do with a Flying Merkel motorcycle... I've no idea. The above shows nothing to do with Honda. this is the only "System Von Dutch" sign I've come across yet... but I've read about it.

This was at yesterdays Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show, and I've got to praise the people that throw this event, as this is the singular place to find Von Dutch made bikes that I've found. There were 3 bikes here this year, and 2 last year.

that is classy.

Because he was the photographer for Hot Rod Magazine, Rickmann worked with the best in the business. He was connected to everyone, and occasionally when the hot new part needed to be installed on something, well, the Corvette was available to fit the new intake, carbs, exhaust...

Notice the carbs sticking through the hood, side pipes... it got the coolest stuff added on. He didn't garage it, left the top down 365, and withing a couple years it was sold off. The new owner didn't have it long before a wiring short burnt it down. Blamed Rickmann for the shoddy wiring, backyard rigged work... but the car was a wreck and used up.
