his character is a race car driver and musician. Natch. His driver is a 1929 Duesenburg Model J, it tows his Shelby AC Cobra 427
ove of several love interests for his character is the daughter of a rich guy, a very spoiled rich girl, and her daily driver is this nice Ferrari 250 GT
her dad has a race car business, and the gold car is the one he want's Elvis's character to drive in some big race

Above, He's leaning on is not the Fiberfab Centurion I thought it was, based on the sidepipe location and the stingray badge. Those are the same one the 2 Fiberfab cars.
But the many people who knew that this was the Elvis movie Clambake had it figured out, and since I haven't watched many Elvis movies past Jailhouse Rock, it's a surprise to me that the car is the XP 87 http://www.corvettes.nl/gm_prototypes/xp87/index.html

Trivia, she had a billboard top ten song at age 20, it reached #4, she was discovered by George Burns, starred with Elvis at age 23, invented the phrase "Sex Kitten" and was nominated for an Oscar at age 30 after starring opposite Jack Nicholson, Steve McQueen, and got her 2nd Oscar nom after starring with John Wayne and Anthony Hopkins, and was in the Who's rock opera "Tommy" and toured with the USO through Vietnam. Hellava career.
