Fully restored vs modified.. .the State Farm Ins Co double duty '68 Camaro

The insurance company says that one reason for making this Camaro is that it’s easier to transport one car around the company than two. Also, State Farm is obviously using it as a publicity stunt, not just an educational tool. They use it to educate State Farm agents about vintage cars and the difference between original equipment and customization or restomods.

One side of the car is completely stock, the other side has been modified. The concept is carried out even under the hood as the stock side of the engine has cast iron heads and the restomod side has an aluminum head. That might make the car run funny, that is, if they ran it. Though theoretically the car is functional, to prevent issues from safety and regulatory nannies the car is void of fluids so they can take it into any building.

learned about this on http://www.rokemneedlearts.com/carsindepth/wordpressblog/?p=10927 at the end of the video, they say it will be at SEMA

I thought I'd posted that Jay Leno found a '55 300SL Gullwing former racecar, and barnfind... but here it is since I can't find a previous post about it

the 2nd owners broke the motor, stuck it in a storage container, and never got the motor fixed and it waited for someone to remember it.

See a video, a gallery, and Jay informing you all about it at http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/photos/1955-mercedes-300sl-gullwing-coupe/4678/#item=115270 or get the latest Motor Trend Classic magazine, it;s great!

Or read about it online at http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/extras/articles/jay-leno-restores-a-vintage-mercedes-benz-300sl-gullwing/

I think I located either Jay Leno's Big Dog Garage or Tim Allen's car collection location

This isn't much evidence, but it's at the general location that is commonly known (by the Burbank Airport) and Jay is supposed to have more than one building, one for working on the collection, at least one for storing them, and the sign above the door says "Service entrance"
And the amount of rubber on this side street in front of that gate, well... draw your own conclusion... but the people I asked while taking this photo said Jay is always on these streets. Soooo, I'm figuring I've found it. Not like that is going to do anything for me, but it's neat
