Just suppose that every highway patrol car, motorcycle, and vehicle were on GPS and that location was live streamed online for the population at large

Would this change the amount of cops on the roads?

Would knowing where the speed traps were change the way the public drives?

Would cops flat out go on strike against their locations being made public? (how many at station, location of speed traps, diversity of patrol areas, etc etc)

Just wondering. That tech is already on their vehicles, it's how their dispatchers know where their vehicles are. Big flatscreens in dispatch show where the units are

Cops in Vienna hit a bicyclist, break his collarbone, and make him blow in the breathalyzer... he wasn't guilty of anything if I translate this German article correctly

a day in the life of the British traffic police (interesting!)

around minute 15 they find a guy from Iran who was strapped to the bottom of a semi trailer for 3 days... trying to sneak into England. At minute 29 is another, same MO, from Iran, through Portugal, riding a lorry axle. 30,000 people are caught a year getting into England illegally. No idea how many people aren't caught

Italian police seize Chinese counterfeits at the Italian EICMA (Exhibition International Motorcycles)

a handful of Chinese scooter exhibitors at last week's 71st International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) had their goods seized by the Italian financial police, according to a Piaggio Group press release, because they had brought imitation Vespa scooters to the show.

The Guardia di Finanza descended upon the show last Thursday, on opening day, and seized 11 Vespa copies from seven different Chinese exhibitors. Italian company Piaggio Group has exclusive rights to the iconic Vespa's shape. Yes, seven companies brought shameless copies of the iconic Italian scooter to an international motorcycle show held in Italy.

rip off traffic cameras in the UK

from the thread http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/england-cobra-club/123025-ripped-off-uk.html

I've got a picture of me 'driving' a Cobra that was sent from the Office of Speeding Fines (whatever). It was a right-hand drive Cobra so I was the passenger. The fact I didn't have a steering wheel in my hands didn't bother the money collectors....

two cars found in a lake may have been there since 1960 and the other 1970, possibly when teens ran off the road and drowned

Two decades-old cars containing six skeletons were recovered from a lake in a remote, sparsely populated area of southwestern Oklahoma, officials said Tuesday — potentially solving a pair of cold cases that have bedeviled local authorities for years.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials stumbled upon the mud-covered cars — a blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1950s-era car — while testing new sonar equipment during a training exercise last week at Foss Lake, near the tiny town of Foss (population: 157) in Custer County, authorities said
Trooper George Hoyle, who was driving the boat that located the vehicles Sept. 10, told the Daily News that the two cars were side by side in about 12 feet of water.
The Camaro is believed to be associated with the disappearance of three students at Sayre High School: Jimmy Allen Williams 16, Thomas Michael Rios, 18, and Leah Gail Johnson 18. They were last seen on Nov. 20, 1970, in Jimmy's car — a blue 1969 Camaro, which was never found, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, a bureau of the Justice Department's National Institute of Justice.
The second vehicle appears to be associated with the disappearance of a couple last seen in Canute, about 10 miles south of the lake, in the early 1960s, Peoples said. He said he had no further information about that case beyond long-ago-told stories. The missing persons database records no open cases earlier than 1969 in Canute or the surrounding county.

"In 1973, I worked for Beckham and Custer County as a state trooper, and I heard rumors that sometime in the early '60s there were two or three people in a car, and they were last seen in Canute," Peoples told the Elk City newspaper. "They were headed for Foss Lake and never seen again."

Custer County Sheriff Bruce Peoples asked anyone with information about the case to get in touch as soon as possible at (580) 323-1616.

LAPD shoot unprovoked at 3 innocent people in trucks validating the lunatic that accused them of abuse of power and incompetence, 2 were hispanic women, the perp they were hunting is a large black man. That's pretty damn incompetent

As reported in the Los Angeles Times: http://articles.latimes.com/2013/feb/08/local/la-me-torrance-shooting-20130209  and http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/07/16888732-women-shot-by-cops-were-just-delivering-papers in the first week of Feb 2013

LAPD were on the lookout for Christopher Jordan Dorner, a disgruntled ex-cop suspected of hunting down members of the LAPD and their families in a twisted campaign of revenge. The radio call indicated that the truck matched the description of Dorner's gray Nissan Titan.

A few minutes later, a truck slowly rolled down the quiet residential street.

As the vehicle approached the house, officers opened fire, unloading a barrage of bullets into the back of the truck. When the shooting stopped, they quickly realized their mistake. The truck was not a Nissan Titan, but a Toyota Tacoma. The color wasn't gray, but aqua blue. And it wasn't Dorner inside the truck, but a woman and her mother delivering copies of the Los Angeles Times...

Beck and others stressed that the investigation into the shooting is in its infancy. They declined to say how many officers were involved, what kind of weapons they used, how many bullets were fired and, perhaps most important, what kind of verbal warnings — if any — were given to the women before the shooting began...

Law enforcement sources told The Times that at least seven officers opened fire. On Friday, the street was pockmarked with bullet holes in cars, trees, garage doors and roofs. Residents said they wanted to know what happened.

"How do you mistake two women, one who is 71, for a large black male?" said Richard Goo, 62, who counted five bullet holes in the entryway to his house. Then, after this incident occurred... A few blocks from the first accidental shooting, police were responding to the shots fired calls and came across another similar pickup truck to the suspect's. There was a collision to the rear of the vehicle and police fired three shots (at least) into the windshield of the driver who was luckily uninjured and NOT INVOLVED.

Christopher Dorner, the intended target of the police, worked for LAPD and has accused them (manifesto here) of abuse of power and incompetence.

The ultimate irony, as several other sources have commented, is that their response to him is validating his allegations.

RHIP (Rank Has It's Privileges/parking) also know as those who make or enforce laws are sometimes breaking the laws they've made or vowed to enforce.

In this next short video, a 12-year-old named Jeremy approaches a Las Vegas Metro motorcycle cop who has illegally parked his motorcycle on a sidewalk, apparently in order to get a soft drink. The young man politely asks the cop if he had any emergency reason to park, and then requests his badge number. The cop refuses to answer either question, and asks Jeremy if he is a lawyer. Jeremy reiterates his request for a badge number. The cop continues to refuse, and eventually drives off. Perhaps the officer can be identified through this footage and reported to a superior who can work with him to correct his misunderstandings about his relationship to the law and his obligations to the public.
