This is the first I've seen that Packard to to get into trucks since the teens

Looks a bit like a Studebaker, I wonder if this was due to the Packard/Studebaker merger and them trying to get a share of the trucking sales
Steve knew about this too! When Packard bought Studebaker, they badged engineered some Studebaker trucks as Packards strictly for export, supposedly because the dealer in Buenos Aires could not obtain a license to import Studebakers.
A sports car Packard... odd. Custom built by a hearse coachbuilder... really weird.
The 1952 Packard Pan American 'sports car' built for company president Hugh Ferry to a design by Richard Arbib, was a stock Packard 250 convertible reworked by hearse and ambulance specialist Henney.

I talked to the owner today, and asked him about the woodlite headlights, he said that once he discovered that they were a Packard preferred accessory/optional equipment, he searched the big swap meet at Hershey or Carlisle until he found a set
A variety of cool cars that Nik posted recently at carrosantigos.wordpress.com

1929 Packard model 640 Runabout, with Woodlite headlights
beautiful hood shape and grill design transitioning to the firewall. Terrific colors as well
Notice the headlight and auxiliary light/turn signal are the same design but different sizes... more about those a couple photos below
here I photographed the headlight above, and the turn signal or auxillary light on the cowl, to show these are of the same shape and maybe same manufacturer. This is the first time I think I've seen the mini Woodlites.
and how about the second windshield for the rumble seat? Wow
